I am setting up a Luddite web page which I will certainly welcome you to as soon as I figure out pagemaker.
Microwaves are optional to Luddites. Too old to be considered hitech. We used to set off flash bulbs in the post exchange (at night, when it was abandoned) by aiming our search radars at it. I think we also heated up some Campbells.
My present bitch is with Verizon. I bought a mobile phone contract (3 years!) which promised free long distance to the mainland up to 1000 minutes a month. When I try to call on saturday afternoon, I get this smarmy "All Verizon circuits to the mainland are busy. Go to hell!" Now they promised long-distance service, and did not restrict it to Verizon circuits. I have called several officials and threatened class action punitive damage suits for violation of the unfair competition, antitrust, and communications act that will cost them billions. I am fishing for a counter offer that will give me another free phone to share these minutes, and an access number that will allow me to tap another company's circuits when Verizon is too busy.
Keep in touch.
Oh! By the way, power corrupts. This morning I wanted to short EIX and PCG on the open, but the bastards went up! I managed to short them at their daily tops, bought some puts, and in general launched a bear raid on these babies. I believe it is a sure thing since both of them threaten claim they will be declaring bankruptcy shortly. Maybe that will stop them from going up much further. I think a better bet is shorting the preferred stocks in the operating companies which are surely dead meat already but still have positive prices.
All public utilities must be destroyed!
