"I feel it is a shame that people like YlangYlang feel they have to protest the inauguration, which is very
divisive when Bush is trying to unite the nation. "

It is my right, neigh my duty, to express my thoughts and feelings about the travesty of the USSC interfering with the election process as laid out in the Constitution. I can do that by protesting, by righting letters, by passing out pamphlets... I chose to march with 15000 others, some of whom make me look moderate, and some of whom were much older people, very conservative in appearance, who protested the soiling of the USSC's "non-partisan" status.

I am disgusted that in what must have been a deal in the name of conciliation, that not one Senator came forward on Jan 6 in solidarity with the black caucus to protest the Florida electoral votes. I acknowledge that it would have been a doomed battle, the vote in congress wasn't there, but that one signature by a senator would have opened the debate, and the discussion would have been entered into history, for history to judge the scope of the damnage done by that USSC decision in December.

I have a right to march. Conciliation is not my job. I acknowledge that it is best to pick one's battles, but I don't see the appointment of Ashcroft as very conciliatory on Georgie Porgie's part.

I suppose you would call Senator Kennedy Is Considering Mounting A Filibuster Against The Ashcroft Appointment as anti conciliatory and divisive, rather than an expression of support for his own position.
