Roadkill, Umm... its an Austrian Company... not Australian. On the other hand, I botched things up and misread the order as only $1.6 million when it was actually $1.7 million. As to why they would announce this, I can only speculate: + Maybe they get so many orders that they can't announce (because the customer would get upset), they're just so happy to be able to announce one - they couldn't resist. + Maybe its to demonstrate that the European market for their products is alive and still growing. + Maybe it has to do with the fact that Germany has legislated a requirement that all radios have at least the same spectral efficiency as Altium... This shows that companies in other countries are going along (even without the legal requirement) just because it makes good business sense. + Perhaps, as you say, its an indication that they're taking market share. (But didn't we already know that?) + Perhaps, as you say, this initial order is just the tip of the iceberg as this customer begins a substantial buildout. But I don't think its a 'test' order... it seems too big for that. $1.7 million buys a fair number of Altium radios. I wonder when they are to deliver these radios? If they're all for delivery this month and next, perhaps this will help improve their 'linearity'... and improved linearity means improved margins and profits. Rob
