Ramsey and mightylakers: I am amazed by this article, but cannot believe it. Please read it and let us know what you guys think. I saw it's title a few days ago but did not think it attractive enough to read it.
tech.china.com
Here is the first part of the article titled:
Can you use a cdma handset? --how much do you know about the newborn cdma handset?
1997, Great Wall was established for commercialize cdma in China and it marked the formal introduction of cdma network in China. Trial systems have been built by Great Wall in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Xian, three years later, it has spread from Guangzhou, Shenzhen area to a huge network across more than 20 large cities all over the country. The network has since opened at the following cities(I added number for sizes): #1 city in Hunan province, #2 in Sichuan, #1 in Yunnan, #1 city in Hubei, three largest cities on Hainan island, #1, #2 cities in Shandong, #1 in Hebei, Lanzhou(#1 in Qinghai?), #1 in Xinjiang, Guangzhou and 10 other large cities in Guangdong province.
All this proves cdma has already started in China. ...
My add: this is a huge network covers a POP at least 200 to 300 million. My suspicion is that how can this huge buildout be kept undercover and what's the reason to do so? Also, where comes all the infrastructures?
Last cc, IJ said there were activities both in and out the country, but I don't believe he meant this big.
Caution, I would not be carried away by this article. So, Ramsey and mightylakers or whoever reads chinese take your shot. |
