QUALCOMM and Cyberlane Sign CDMA Modem
Card License Agreement

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 2001--QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM - news), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced that it has entered into a CDMA modem card license agreement with San Diego-based Cyberlane Inc. Under the terms of the royalty-bearing agreement, QUALCOMM has granted Cyberlane a worldwide license under QUALCOMM's CDMA technology and patents to design and market innovative solutions for cdmaOne(TM) and third-generation (3G) CDMA (cdma2000, cdma2000 1xEV, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA) applications. Cyberlane will pay QUALCOMM ongoing royalties at the same rates for second generation and 3G equipment, irrespective of the licensed CDMA standard implemented.
