you were very nice and gentle- I didn't mean to say that humor was impossible, and certainly not for professional comediens who make their millions off this talent, just that it often seems to strip away people's ability to laugh at themselves or to see the humor in a topic. Of course laughing at oneself presupposes an ability to move outside oneself to a certain extent. People who are normally quite civil and fun suddenly foam at the mouth when politics gets involved. One has only to read these threads to see that. The humor quickly ceases to be true wit and becomes insults and taunts that pretend to pass as wit.
