It was only three months ago that ML was recommending...

Puck,

At the beginning of 2000, ML was recommending purchase of INSP at $214 even though their price target was $180.

(Jan 2-for-1 stock split occurs)

On 1/27/00, ML upgraded INSP to BUY and raised its price target from $90 (pre-split $180) to $175 (pre-split $350).

(Apr 2-for-1 stock split)

On 4/20/00, ML raised its price target to $175 (pre-two-splits $700). Several days later it was down to $100 for no apparent reason.

By downgrading to Neutral today, they don't have to worry about the $100 price target anymore.
