TUSTIN, Calif.--(BUSINESS EDITORS)--June 3, 1997--Smartflex Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:SFLX) Tuesday announced that Chief Financial Officer, Al Castleman, will be moving toward a planned retirement.
Castleman will remain in his position at Smartflex until the end of July, at which time he will step down to part-time involvement. Castleman joined Smartflex more than three years ago, to assist in taking the company public, after serving as chief financial officer of several high technology companies in the Silicon Valley area of Northern California.
Effective August 1, 1997, John W. Hohener, currently the company's corporate controller and treasurer, will assume the duties and responsibilities of chief financial officer at Smartflex, replacing Castleman.
Hohener has held his current position at Smartflex since 1988, prior to which he spent eight years with Silicon Systems where he held several financial management positions. Hohener holds a Bachelor's degree in finance from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
