I don't think anyone really gets it. LDT, Infiniband, PCI-X, etc. are all targeting different areas of the system. It's not an either-or proposition: I can envision systems which efficiently incorporate all three standards at the same time.

Of course, that's not going to stop the supporters of one technology from lift up their standards as the "Great Unifying Standard." NGIO was going to be it. Then Infiniband. Now it's LDT. I've heard it all before.
