OT I'm on a different page.

It's refreshing to hear a bit of cold war rhetoric.
Reminds me of my youth.

But ....

It's not clear that the Chinese stole "our most secret nuclear technology", unless you believe everything you read in the papers. The so-called neutron bomb secrets were available from certain defense contractors, and not related to this Los Alamos witchhunt - that was a convenient ruse.

The Chinese had long range missiles before Clinton took office. If you don't like that, blame Bush Sr. or Reagan, or Werner von Braun, or Robert Goddard, or the tooth fairy.

You don't like the Chinese having an SPR, engaging in war games, or having aircraft carriers (sitting ducks), missile technology, or nuclear technology. You got a point here - how dare the Chinese want to be like US. Don't they know their place ?

Don't you realize that if China is offended by your remarks they can cut off all trade and Target, K-Mart, and Wallmart will have nothing left to sell ?? Our economy would be in shambles ! Demand for oil would fizzle, We'd forget Slider's advice, and all go broke.

Of course, it was always reassuring to have those commies around to hate. The Chinese are commies, aren't they, so it's OK to hate them, right ? If China does attack Taiwan, and the US joins the fray (quite possible with Bush Jr. although he said he'd pull-back as world policeman), you can bet your bottom oil-soaked dollar that US lives will be lost. The Chinese aren't quite as defenseless as the third-world despots we usually pick fights with.

P.S. Please don't construe my remarks as a defense for Clinton, who was truly an embarrassment (but maybe not as much as Bush Jr. is going to be - what a clown).
