re. <<we're seeing a much more sustainable level >> (of bookings).

Today, at LRCX, "Bagley told analysts during a conference call that bookings in the current quarter are expected to be down about 35 percent from the quarter ended in December."
dailynews.yahoo.com

Doesn't look like bookings are finding a "sustainable level" just yet. They're dropping, at least on a time scale of a few months.

Looking further at Lam's guidance,
"Revenues will fall to between $480 million to $490 million" (compared to $494.3 million in the December quarter).

That means that their BTB, which was 1.1 for the December quarter, will drop in the March quarter to something like:
1.1 * 0.65 / ($485 M / $494 M) = 0.73

These figures for Lam might be an indication of what to expect for BTB figures from SEMI over the next couple of months. A BTB of about 0.73.

How stocks might react to that news is hard to imagine. Lately they've been going up on disappointing news.
