The coitus interruptus lasted 2 seconds and the subsequent masturbation lasted 2 seconds. In spite of this extremely short period of time, they have carried much greater weight in church doctrine than the twenty-two seconds of intercourse which was their precursor. For this coitus interruptus masturbation was the evidence that the Church was able to rely upon in its righteous opposition to both of these filthy practices.
God had just killed Onan's brother, ER. We are not told why, except that He was angry. When Onan practices birth control and masturbation at the same time, God gets angry once more, and kills Onan. Finally the father-in-law (Judah) asks the grieving widow (Tamar) if he can come in unto her. Upon his promise to give her one of his sheep, Tamar allows him to come in unto her. This incest produces lovely twin boys, cute as buttons-and God is finally freed from the ongoing annoyance of needing to kill such wicked people as ER and ONAN.
It may be noted that Onan spelled backward is NANO--from Greek...Nanos--dwarf. Some people question whether Onan was truly ever IN, which means the masturbation lasted the full 22 seconds...making birth control morally defensible. This, however, is a complex debate fraught with controversy, and not one in which I am prepared to come in unto at this time. |
