Jenna on the hotlist

I started watching the SI hotlist when this thread was climbing it. Supposedly it is not the # of posts or bookmarks, but the increase in the past 24 hours of them. My question, how is it possible for a few threads to always be at the top, particularly Jennas? It gets a lot of posts, but how can the rate of increase possibly continue at the top of SI? Surely there isn't piles of new bookmarks every single day, and the # of posts per day can't be increasing geometrically indefinitely? It seems a number of guru related threads are able to always maintain a spot on the hot list...how do they do it?
