G.,

Based upon my personal results, I completely disagree with the statement,

"We have to look at everything because we never know what the market will use as an excuse for higher or lower prices."

My best profits were a result of buying stocks and sectors that the Market had trashed while or where I felt the fundamentals for a company or a sector differed markedly. As long as one doesn't use margin, or at least doesn't use it excessively, one can wait as long as it takes for the Market to catch up with reality.

The most important thing in my opinion remains the prospect for growth in earnings; especially when that prospect doesn't seem to be factored into the stock's price.

Best regards,
Ian.
