Re: we had to get another one (which btw solved the problem). What anti-static procedures were you following? (there's always the chance that this chip was good when shipped but damaged prior to its installation). Particulary in a northern climate during heating season when the relative humidity of the room is low, it's easy to build up a static charge, then discharge it into a pin on the chip. Dan
