The European perception of VW is much different than the US perception. The maker of the Bug, making a super sedan is strange. To get their v-12 to sell, they'll have to price it at or less than the V-8 Mercedes and BMW models.

Didn't they just buy Rolls Royce? BMW pulled their engine (which was going into Rolls and Bentley cars), and VW had to come up with an entirely new engine design. I guess in that sense, the big VW is just the next step to a Rolls.
