In the set of nested platforms that make up the networked computer environments that I use (Hardware, OSs, UIs, GUIs, NGUIs (network GUIs), ...) I prefer the Netscape NGUI platform to the Microsoft NGUI platform. It's a personal thing, based on multiple OS platforms (primarily HP-UX and Windows).

RCM, it is interesting that you admit that IE represents MSFT's entry in the NGUI platform category. We are no longer speculating about a new network platform paradigm, the NGUI is here. I use it all the time.
And I don't want my NGUI too tightly coupled with underlying OS platforms or file systems (the underlying OS takes care of those housekeeping things just fine).

Microsoft has lost a major piece of its dominant position as the only relevant supplier of PC software platforms. And MSFT knows it! #:o)

PS: I still own stock in both companies. BTW, what's this holier than thou crap on this thread about MSFT not being worthy of investors? Good grief! next thing I know people'll be saying I should only invest in nonprofits and charity organizations. Get a grip, folks!
