" I asked, "Hyperbole, perhaps? Or just more trash talking?" You haven't yet responded. In earlier posts you've said that you have had substantive conversation with "Poet and others." Were you lying then or are you lying now? Or was it just hyperbole? Or trash talk? Then there's "What do you mean, here I go again?" What do you mean. And which "you" are you addressing? Option 2. Show me the post. All of my posts have been either contributions to substantive discussions or thread hygiene. If you think I've done any trash talking, show me the post. You can't because there are none. Option 3. Benefit of the doubt. the only reason such a thread would be moderated is to discourage personal comments that you and I and most everyone here is guilty of making... I have more faith in people than this... I did come here to discuss issues openly, but I took the invitation too seriously since I've been unable to find anyone who can maintain a meaningful dialogue for more than two minutes... if I were to start such a thread, you can quickly prove me wrong by posting anything provided that the post is on topic... You were speculating on the feasibility of a thread for substantive discussion of issues. I offered the notion that an open thread would always end up dominated by trash talk because it's more popular than discussion and has a tendency to suck the life out of discussion. Now, GZ, please feel respond to any or all options. I apologize if my first two are not up to snuff but I don't have much hands-on experience with that style although I have read and been educated by the many excellent examples of trash talk on this thread. You've often said you want to have substantive discussions. I do not know if you're sincere or being disingenuous, as many have suggested. I do see you participating in and provoking trash talk. The patience with which I've been credited is instead my considerable training and experience in facilitative behaviors and group problem solving. I know how easy it is to get sucked in.
