Rydex Total Assets Update for Wednesday, January 24th, 2001:

Regular Series:

SPX Long - NOVA 519.0 Million
SPX Short- URSA 201.3 Million**new 52 week low

NDX Long - OTC 2,222 BILLION
NDX Short- Arktos 52.8 Million**new 52 week low

XAU Precious Metals 44.8 Million
Banking 75.8 Million
Biotechnology 469 Million
Money Market 914 Million

*********************************************
Dynamic Series (200% correlation)

SPX Long - TITAN 125.3 Million
SPX Short- TEMPEST 24.4 Million

NDX Long - VELOCITY 241.5 Million
NDX Short- VENTURE 26.0 Million

*********************************************

The market is ready for a pullback based on rydex sentiment figures alone. Unfortunately I am not able to backtest this against all the other variables at this time.

Quick note on breakdown of XAU-

The one rule that supercedes all rules is the gap rule... Unfortunately, there was a 5-6 cent gap at 48.95 area that had to get filled. Today that gap is filled. The good news is that there is another upside gap that now has to get filled around XAU 51.55- 51.99.

Unfortunately is is doubtful that we are going to break thru XAU 53-55 in this time frame I was looking for.

Remain 100% Long XAU Precious Metals Fund.

Still long MOT as someone had asked.

I have overextended my stay already.

Best regards, J.T.
