eichler,

Of course we can bury the hatchet. I appreciate your comments, and don't consider your message any sort of blotch on this thread.

As you'll notice, this thread is unmoderated. It is my policy that, for better or worse, it will remain so regardless of what (or who) comes along.

None of us know who really exists behind the words we read and react to. While this is likely not the case, it is possible that LG (or me, or anyone) is a quadruplegic, homebound and for whom posting on SI is an enormously important social activity, providing him or her with enormous amounts of much-needed happiness and comradery.

For others, perhaps funds at risk in the markets are directed toward the care of a sick elderly parent, a disabled child, or a few simple creature comforts, which may give them great stress and understandable revulsion or anger when ideas implying impending financial ruin or suggesting market ignorance (whether true or false) are posted to them.

Or, it may simply be that people just don't like to be wrong. There are more reasons for this than the simple obstinance which I admit I usually attribute such to; people who grew up with meager possessions, people who have been physically or emotionally abused, or hell...are just tired of the everyday work/mortgage/traffic/mother-in-law grind become very proprietary (to use a horrific pun) about their personas, posts, or threads after awhile. I have no doubt that of the many ways this behavior manifests itself (obsessive lawn maintenance, conspicuous consumption, etc), the message board culture is among them.

And, sometimes we just think we're right.

So, to hell with it. I made my point and if it sticks, fine. If it doesn't and I look like an idiot, well, that's how it goes. I've been wrong in the past and I'll be wrong again. I think I can take it.

Again, while I don't mean this toward LG alone, SI just might be a lot more important to him (and other folks) than it is for me for any number of reasons. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

So, regards and luck in the markets to you and everyone.
