Maybe even a)---just to impress the new boss with the brand new policy of "innovation over regulation" !!! I honestly don't know how much the secretary impacts each decision. I suspect it depends on which functionary is handling the whole process. I picture this huge stack of pending mergers, each one all set to "pass by" the new secretary, and each one very likely to be handled according to whoever is in charge and has been all along. Do you think the new secretary will have heard of JDSU and SDLI? Considering how many were surprised when the merger announcement first came out --- SDLWho????????????? --- I'm guessing it won't be one that the new head will want to make his mark on. If he has heard of them, he probably won't want to stop progress in anything related to telecom/Internet. We'll know in a couple weeks. Pat
