it's merely the straightforward association between rising income tax rates as a proportion of the GDP and the decrease in the personal savings rates. now, one can add in the large increase in money supply since 1995 for personal debt and for corps to buy their own stock. never did see any of you dems or repubs reconcile why a missile shield is a good military and diplomatic idea (as well as fiscally responsible idea) now when it was a bad idea when Reagan was using it as a bargaining chip with the Soviets. First, Clinton and now Bush are pushing for an ABM system. There were no Dems dissenting when Clinton proposed it and has pushed for it the last three years (likely as a defense against the Chinese).
