Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan is
expected to endorse tax cuts at a Senate
hearing today, modifying his long-held stance
that the single best use for burgeoning federal
surpluses is paying down the national debt.
Sources familiar with Greenspan's views say the
Fed chairman believes huge new forecasts of
the surplus are legitimate and big enough to
accommodate both substantial debt reduction
and tax cuts.

CBS plans high-tech replay for Super Bowl

TAMPA — In the fall of 1999, two CBS
engineers were given a mission: develop new
technology for the 2001 Super Bowl that will
pop the eyeballs of viewers.

"They did what all engineers do when they
formulate ideas," CBS Sports senior vice
