I suspect it's more a result of the Street's misinterpretation of a GLW comment last night. This morning the CEO, on CNBC, complemented Mark Haines for noticing the word, "MAY", in the statement that demand may weaken next Q. He isn't seeing any weakness, nor any signs that its coming, but after reading the newspapers feels that he has to include the risk in a public statement. It will probably take the market a few days to figure that there's a virtual rather than a real recession.
