from my knowledge & experience, SAP is a vampirish budget busting kludge... tremendously difficult to implement & maintain once implemented; tremendously expensive & difficult to hire personell/consultants knowledgable & SAP savvy. Basically, instead of tailoring the software to suit your business you end up tailoring your business to suit the software. The only reason I can think that any business would buy it is that they evidently have some super-duper sales people & most corp CIO's, IT VP's etc don't have a clue about the real world but they do love a good dog'n'pony show especially if it's got lots of graphics and charts, throw in a few tasty canapes to nibble on 'n they're sold 'n their businesses are screwed....IMHO...
