To all,
I talked with Aspasia in investor relations. This Breast cancer diagnostic kit which they see coming out toward the end of this year is something that might require FDA approval. Currently, none of their kits requires FDA approval. However she explained to me that because breast cancer is so "hot" it might require FDA approval. Frankly, I don't understand why one Diagnostic kit (i.e. the CMV kit that they just launched) would not require approval versus another (i.e. breast cancer) which would require approval. So, I think that while the Breast Cancer diagnostic kit has potential it has several barriers:
one, the potential need for FDA approval; two, steep competition from other companies (Myriad Genetics I believe)and thridly whether it will
even be effective. If this kit works well and beats out the comp. then things will be looking up, otherwise it will just be steady growth from their core ELISA's, antibodies, etc.
