Scumbria, actually he made a laudable, but failed, attempt at school reform. By that I mean he talked it up and pushed really, really hard. On the downside, he also pushed charter schools, some of which are turning up to be somewhat insufficient because there is no monitoring or controls. Seems that some of them are run strictly for profit and make little or no attempt to actually school the kids. The test scores are much, much worse than the "failed" public schools they replaced. Ah well, at least someone made some money off the deal...
