Jim- I've been lurking here about 2 weeks and am happy to have stumbled across this thread. I follow the other QQQ and MDD threads but I love your original work here on Naz100.
You've motivated me to play around with spread charts of the NDX to COMPX, as a couch potatoe's way of "replicating", so to speak, the head/tail phenomenon you report. My working hypothesis is that the nas100 is the head and the COMPX is the tail. Anyhow, last night I had a eureka. I happened to chart the DMI (Wilder's 14/14 standard DI) on the 60 minute bars of this spread (NDX:COMPX) and was surprised to find the +DI/-DI crossovers work fairly well at calling turns similar in the NDX itself. This is similar to what you are doing here.

I marked some of these turning points on the attached chart.

You can see that we are now in a strongly TRENDING down move on this indicator. The ADX has been ramping up since yesterday's high. This leg down could very well match the leg down at the end of December in length, based on the velocity of the ADX right now. I'm not saying we're going to touch that low (altho we may) but that we are about to complete a 400-500 point leg down here based on the ADX.

Jimmy- thanks again for your unselfish, dedicated, and consistent sharing. :)
(Okay, you can put away those kleenex now)
