Corvis Reports $46M For Q4

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

COLUMBIA, MD – Corvis Corporation (NASDAQ: CORV - message board), a leader in delivering intelligent all-optical networking solutions, today reported its fiscal fourth quarter and year end results for the period ended December 30, 2000.

Corvis recorded revenue of $46.0 million for the quarter ended December 30, 2000, an increase of 100.7% compared with the third quarter ended September 30, 2000. Revenue for the quarter was generated by continued commercial deployment of both transport and switching products, including the all-optical core switch, under the company’s multi-year contract with Broadwing Communications, Inc. During the quarter, Corvis became the world’s first company to recognize revenue on a commercially deployed all-optical core switch.

"Corvis completed a banner year in the fourth quarter by delivering the world's first all-optical core switch to a key customer and by delivering a significant sequential increase in revenue for its shareholders," said Dr. David Huber, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "It also set the stage for our continued success in 2001 as we lead the industry in delivering all-optical products and setting performance records in optical networking."
