donnie.....looking back a bit....

remember in december our discussion on brcm versus atml....included stock dynamics, and most importantly what greg m spoke of, which was requirement for basing?

12/11/00 brcm close 142.8125 01/26/01 pre open 90.4375
12/11/00 atml close 14.1875 01/26/01 pre open 15.000

please don't take this retro comment the wrong way, just trying to demonstrate how a good company like brcm, with its stock more of a momentum trading vehicle is not quite ripe for ltb+h......

be cautious of high pe momentum issues....they can whipsaw very quickly, wait for a basing and stabilization, otherwise as i posted to jill recently, take profits when they are available...

at the moment i'd be looking at chips like xlnx on pull backs, providing they have not violated their up trend line...

good luck...stay away from falling knives like pmcs....at least until they hit the ground, bounce and then lie fallow for a bit.....momentum in either direction difficult to reverse, and when it does the reversal is drastic!

take care
