Hi Mike,

True to your new year's resolution I see. <g>

1x Mike! The bridge to the future. Voice to data.

"...and it's available now!" IJ was quoted as saying yesterday.

Q sold 15 million asics in fiscal 1Q01 and 500,000 were 1x. Management confidently forecast that 90 million cdma devices would be sold in calander '01 and that 7 million of these will be 1x. And from there it's "to the moon Alice." Ummmm, no, Dr. Jacobs didn't quite use those words - those are mine.

While the rest of the wireless industry has lowered expectations for '01 Q is "more confident" that the 50% cdma growth rate, 60 million to 90 million, will be met. What differentiates Q from the others?

"...seeing good growth in Korea, Japan, and North America" the team reiterated.

"...new devices in development... wireless laptops... very excited about telematics developments..."

We've turned the corner Mike. The dark clouds are on the horizon. Yes even you might have a wireless internet device within one year... well maybe that's an overly bold prediction, but at least it will be available if you would like one.

Rory
