"Well to be strictly accurate"

I think that is important. Very few that argue Gore's side are, imo. That's not to say I don't make any inaccurate statements, but if I do it is by mistake, and I WANT THEM CORRECTED. Accuracy is important.

"the GOP chorus was exceptionally organized"

What is wrong with that? I was outraged at the immediate tactics that Gore brought in. Seventy-five lawyers to comb the countryside looking for any technicality that could bring him a win. Before the 1st count was done Wexler had already thrown out the 1st salvo with the Palm Beach ballots. Jesse Jackson immediately tried to stir up racial discord. If the Republicans were not so organized there is a good chance we would have an illegitimate president right now, imo.

"Her interpretation of the law was correct
Well, the FSC didn't think so. Normally, they would be the last arbiter"

The FL SC was WRONG. That is why the US SC remanded their BAD DECISION by a 9-0 vote.

btw, I appreciate your obviously well thought out position, but I will debate my side until someone can show that I am wrong. There was a lot of creepy (and un-American, imo) behavior displayed by the dems during this episode, and it bothers me that the repubs are attacked for defending what was a legitimate (but very close) win by GWB. The win was verified by the existing laws on the books at the time of the election. I agree that they need fixing, but the time to do it is before the next election. They cannot (imo) be fixed in the super heated aftermath of a close election and then applied retroactively.
Respectfully,
Scott
