What we are seeing this q reminds me of what we expected to happen after y2k. And you are right the confluence of the election quagmire in the midst of a nasdaq decline(orderly until the election), and a retail buying strike led to inventory corrections and what looks like a softer first half now to be corrected by Alan's rate cuts and W's tax cuts which will lead to a soft landing and a 2nd half recovery. Under this scenario I am a buyer now, particulary after rate cut 2, next week, regardless of whether it is a quarter or half point.

Exactly!!
Well put.

That is why it makes no sense to be dumping the growth companies (JDSU etc.) that had a temporary slowdown or a slight reduction in growth rate--it looks like even PMCS was one of the last ones to get nailed. Actually, it would not suprise me to see PMCS come back much faster given its market dominance in its sector. According to the company, it is not competitive pressures that caused them to miss.
They have lots in the pipeline with design wins.

Maybe that is why PMCS is now bouncing back. Investors now looking past 1st half of the year.
