I guess that the numbers at Yahoo! are off. They claim that ORCL has 5.59B shares outstanding (and a float of 4.19B). So if LE owned 24% of the company, he'd have 1.34B shares. That's how I concluded that he had more than a billion shares. Also, Forbes was saying last summer that he was worth something like $50B+, and since the stock was never over 45, that sounds like more than 1B shares, too. Maybe the difference between these numbers if that LE "owns" the founder's shares he has, and the other shares are options that he's vested or vesting (and he certainly has a huge pile of those from the last 10 years)...
