I don't know who would sell after the approval.
Perhaps someone who is short and wanted to make sure it
stayed down. Perhaps someone who was waiting for an
approval boost to sell anyway.
Would there be some kind of complex arbitrage between
the vote and the closing on the 29th?

I don't know who would have benefited if the merger was voted down except those who were short.

So far this year we are up a lot. Could have been just
profit taking on the news.
