Digital Copying
What I was thinking about when I said that copying software
was affecting LPAC's price recovery was the software that
allows one to decrypt DVD's and make copies of the data.

The rational behind my thinking this was that with the
ability to make high quality permanent and easily
stored copies of filmed movies the movie industry
would use LPAC's services to archive a huge library of films from the past.

I am pretty sure that I saw posts from others who thought the same way.

But a man placed software that would allow copies of DVD's
to be made on the web. In April of last year the movie
industry sued in federal court to prevent further distribution and use of the software.

They won in the district court but I understand
the case is being appealed.

I think the movie industry is reluctant to have digital
copies made of valuable films because of the
availability of this copying software.
