I'm going to pick telcos as the best (and safest) buys now. I like the prices some bad press has produced short-term in stocks like VZ, LU, FON and others. VZ is the king and the one to pick, the best of the best. Had 2-3 lawsuits in the news which has brought the stock down some but boy will they dominate going forward. The VOD of the US + GTE+BEL combined. Selling at miniscule PE now. When the spin turns positive (and it will eventually) these telco stocks will power forward nicely. Everything else I have a wait and see attitude on now. Sold IFMX after it more than doubled. Softechie, should have not poo-ppoed IFMX when I recommended it at $3. Look for true oversold value and then profit often unless it's a long-term hold. Telcos now are all long-term holds IMHO. Might get you 50% or more this year from these levels. Why not?
