I noticed that also. I guess Al has admitted to himself that the really smart thing to do (pay down the debt) has not found any favor with any majority. Too bad.

The next best thing is a tax cut.

I just now also realized that if we did pay down the debt, it would get run up by the next Democratic president, whenever that might happen. So Al might be looking at The Harsh Reality...most people don't care much about the national debt.
