Ah yes. a Peter Rysavy chestnut from 1999:

Message 15034481

As for Jim Lurgio's (long time thread contributor here) comments (or yours, I can't tell):

"behind Nokia's statement that they plan "to be first to margin, if not first to market"

... that I buy.

You said:

"the primary reason for the partnership with IDCC was to be first to market in the race for 3G market".

That I don't buy.

TBMK, Nokia will not participate in either the DoCoMo May launch in Asia, or Isle of Man in Europe, either on handset or infra side.

As to whether or not IDCC's cash registers will be ringing ... I have no opinion.

At some time in the future I'll evaluate what Nokia has obtained for dollars spent with IDCC.

IDCC has had a nice little pop to start the year ... for the sake of their investors, I hope it holds.

In the meantime, I'm waiting with bated breath for the appearance of Nokia's GPRS handsets and appliances, since obviously they are not first to market but hopefully will be "first to margin".
