The annual report has an interesting remark that MOST of the major wireless manufacturers have "approached" QCOM about licenses for the 3G technology. That means that some of the major wireless manufacturers have not bothered even to approach QCOM, so they have no plans to be paying royalties to QCOM in any near future. As for the rest of the majors the annual report does NOT say that they have agreed to pay royalties. What can be inferred from this is that the anticipated 1X, HDR etc. profits will come slowly and gradually.
