Dear Dr. Id, I have a psychological question for you. I was minding my own business seeing people with the flu (why the hell they come to the office to be told they have the flu-take some tylenol go to bed etcc.. is beyond me-but that's another perplexer). Anyways OB calls and says they have a patient ready to deliver and could I get there pronto.
Well on arrival I discover that the patient is a scared sh-tless college coed who just discovered that morning that she was pregnant (and about to deliver a healthy TERM female infant). Not only is she soon to become a Mom but her parents who are clueless as to what is going on are on the way to the hospital. Everything turned out ok, very emotional when they arrived of course. That I was able to participate and help smooth things along was one of those moments that makes me feel privileged to do what I do.
Now the question-Is it psychologically possible to be in such denial, i.e. to not even be aware on the surface? that she is pregnant? I believe it is but no one I talk to does.(but I also believe JDSU,NTAP and QCOM are good values at there current levels <g>)
