If any of what you say was absolutely accurate, analysts would not be upgrading their rating on Octel. I really think you're stuck on this "Sierra is dead" line of reasoning. Octel's future is not Sierra and they know it along with those analysts that follow the stock. Octel is not going to see any significant erosion of their market share in the next two years. It is understandable for those associated with competing companies or who have personal reasons to dislike Octel to make these types of war cries. The fascinating thing to me is that you have allowed your dislike of Octel to get in the way of some positive upward swings. The trading range was established almost immediately following the big plunge. Even given the tech downturn, Octel is gaining ground and if you look at a chart of Octel compared to both the SP 500 and the communication equipment sector, it appears that a breakout is possible. Just keep an eye on that hypothetical 10,000 shares you noted on your calender. Just try not to bite through your lip when the short term three month period arrives. <G>
