""The tech-laced Nasdaq index rose or fell by more than 5 percent on 27 trading days last year compared to just once in 1999.""
I was caught on the wrong side of the market on some of those days, ruins your day. Sometimes, I would think, it will stop now, it will will reverse now, wrong! It seems, sometimes now, it's either straight up until the end of day, or straight down.
3 recent days, about 3% intraday moves:
Nasdaq on Tuesday, almost all up.
Nasdaq on Thursday, almost all down.
Nasdaq on Friday, almost all up.
All, about a 100 point intraday move.
