I trade using limit orders. This may become more complicated as we move to decimalization. If the bid and as is only 1/4 point apart then a market order will fill faster. You will note this by the confirmation screen that appears after you enter your order. It has been my experience that options that split the bid and ask may never get filled in a fast moving market. Its a case of trying to finess things too much. In any option play I'm looking for the stock to move two points to the upside. So by trying to squeeze an extra 1/8 point out of the situation often proves self defeating.
