OT .... Pat, in the current cesspool of college athletics, Al McGuire was indeed a rare and special person. Singlehandedly, he put Marquett U on the map basketballwise. A throwback to a different time, when things were about the kind of person you were; not how much money you had. A person that today is rare in college athletics. He loved basketball, but he loved life and his young people even more.

Having met McGuire many years ago, I do know he left an impression on many lives, on those close to him. Today, Rick Majerus is one of the few like McGuire left; a man who cares about lives more than wins and losses. Rick and Al had a very special love for eachother and for life.
