Are you using Windows 98 se or Windows Me or another one?

Note there is a patch but they recommend trouble shooting first. Course, you really have already done a lot of trouble shooting to have isolated it to the E trends software so there may not be much more before trying the patch.

Later today, others with more knowledge will be able to explain if restarting the machine or turning it off before the windows shut down screen appears is damaging the computer. My previous experience with these issues is that periodically, a file ends up getting corrupted.
