<<Why not try a year 2001 version?>>

If there is interest, I will be happy to set up a 2001 Doubles Candidates Portfolio. The 2000 Doubles Portfolio came about as a result of Apollo's April 2000 Portfolio Survey post:
Message 13490718
in which he asked:

"In your estimation, what is the single best stock pick to double or more in price in the next 12 months? IOW's, what is your single best pick, with the best price/safety ratio for the next 12 months? And what is the rationale behind your choice?"

There are three months to go on the 2000 portfolio started in 4/00 and while there have been several stocks that doubled last year, some within a few months of being nominated, all have fallen back to under 100%. MUSE at +85.6% is the only stock over 35% at this point (alankeister - take a virtual bow).

So try your hand at it this year. If there are more than a handful of nominations this week I will set up a portfolio using closing prices as of this Friday, February 2.
