Yeah, you pull the pin and run. In 5 seconds, an explosion of angry bears pops out of the can. Hungry polars, angry Kodiacs and grumpy grizzlies. They pack a few female black bears in who've lost their cubs just for completeness (they fit into places where other bears can't get to). The problem with bear spray is that sometimes you can get a grizzly stuck in the nozzle, and the hole can just rolls around on the floor growling. These duds still produce a pretty good distraction and allow you to get away.
