Tim the strange thing is that the December 20 lows had the highest number of new lows all year on the naz (950 if memory serves, anyone knows of a chart with historical new highs new lows?), the January 3rd had only 450, the problem is that both had relatively mild (just -1000) tic reading and a singular one rather then a strong hammer of three or more days with the tic under -1000 (we got that in May, in spades, 7 in a row, 4 more than I anticipated then, and it cost me...). I think that if the fed's did not intervene on the third in the afternoon, we might have put in a serious low on the following few days. Since the fed aborted the house cleaning process, we got to wait for the next shoe, and thus my late February early March (probably March 9th for the ultimate low, possibly extending to the 12th) "massacre" is still in play.
