Well, learned something new today. I was totally unaware of bear spray. When I've been in bear country, I've always been told to just make noise so as not to surprise them. My first instinct on seeing a bear is always to get out the camera--zoom lens, of course. I've gotten a few good shots. That stuff doesn't look like it would be too suitable for personal protection in an urban environment. I carry a small purse. <g> Karen
